Murphy's Law

What can happen, will happen. And let me tell you, the most outlandish thing happened today. First off, within 30 minutes before leaving for the airport, we get a call from Michele in Int'l Programs saying that Lufthansa was on strike. NOT COOL LUFTHANSA. We head to the airport anyways and on the way we find out that Lufthansa is no longer on strike (fickle much?) BUT don't get your hopes up cause whaddya know, San Francisco was fogged in. Luis, the man at the kiosk, was so kind and spent almost an hour trying to help me find another flight today, to no avail. But he set it all up for me tomorrow, so here's my new flight schedule:

PDX > Washington DC- no fog problems here!
7:48 am > 3:41 pm

DC > Frankfurt
5:26 pm > 7:10 am

Frankfurt > Marseille
8:10 am > 9:45 am

Not a bad schedule, and by going to DC it cuts my travel time over to Frankfurt almost in half!

I am just ready to go. I have to say it was nice having one more night at home, more time with my family, one last night in my bed, got to see my little bro play in the first football game of the year. He's on varsity now and I'm so proud of him. But the emotional build up, saying goodbye and the tears and the stress was so hard and then being told, oh you get to go back home and do it all over again tomorrow was just nottttttttt what I wanted to hear. All well. Everything happens for a reason... This is basically my philosophy on life. It's rubbing off on my family :)

Before I "left" this morning my parents gave me these, so, so thoughtful:

Love my family. I appreciate them so much more than I realized ever since college, and especially now.
Side note: People say my mom and I look alike... I don't see it! What do you think?
